Dick grew up in Portland followed by sixteen years in Europe and the east coast prior to returning to Portland in 1973. Dick’s business career began after a USAF commitment as an instructor pilot in Europe. Upon his return from overseas, he spent many years in sales, marketing and merchandising with Jantzen, Inc., White Stag-Speedo and Nike prior to embarking on his real estate career in 1988. This extensive business experience provided him with a proven marketing ability and the principles necessary in the guidance and completion of real estate transactions.
Dick’s work with Granite Equities and the Grubb &
Ellis Company prior to Compass was as an investment sales
specialist. He helped found the Portland office of Compass
Commercial where he is a principal specializing in representing
buyers and sellers of buildings and land, assisting tenants in
their relocation and renewal efforts, as well as marketing
space for building owners. Dick’s wife Susan and
three of their six grown children are active in the Portland
real estate community.
