Gardner joined the Bend, OR office of Compass Commercial Real Estate Services in 1999, after serving fifteen years as a Senior Vice President with Grubb & Ellis Company in Portland, Oregon. Gardner initiated the opening of the Portland office of Compass Commercial.

Today he serves as the President of Compass Commercial in addition to his full time work as a commercial broker. His activities include representing buyers and sellers of buildings and land, assisting tenants in their relocations and renewals, and marketing space for building owners. He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and is one of only two members in Central Oregon.

Gardner is also a member of the Bend Chamber of Commerce, Central Oregon Association of Realtors (COAR), and The Greater Rotary Club of Bend. In his spare time he enjoys golf, skiing, and international travel.
