John Keba joined Compass in June 2010 when we merged with his company, Equity Growth Management.
As the sole owner of Equity Growth Management for 13 years, John oversaw a portfolio of retail, office, industrial, R&D, and custom home/land development holdings in Arizona, California and Oregon. Equity Growth Management provided full-service property management services to select third party clients.
John also served as a senior partner with Equastone Real Estate Investment Advisors (formerly Equus Realty Advisors, Inc.) from 2001 to January 2004. As executive vice president and senior asset manager, John oversaw the company’s nationwide portfolio of commercial properties providing oversight of commercial real estate services, including advisory services, property repositioning and asset management. John held an equity interest in many of the partnership assets of the firm.
Prior to joining Equus, John was an original employee of Capstone Advisors, Inc., responsible for the opportunistic acquisition of under performing assets, providing value added asset management expertise and successful disposition of more than 4.5 million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties in its five-year history.
He's also served as a State Court Appointed Receiver in Arizona, California and Kansas and was responsible for more than $250 million of commercial, multifamily and residential subdivision real estate holdings. In addition, his duties included conducting feasibility studies, strategic planning, marketing, unit sales and lease-up, as well as portfolio dispositions for a variety of financial institutions.
John holds a master’s degree in business administration as well as bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of San Diego. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors® holding a State license as a Real Estate Broker in California and in Oregon. He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), holding the designations of Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Accredited Residential Manager (ARM). He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
John is a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve and is now retired. He is married and has two young boys.
