Steve has been successfully selling and leasing commercial real estate in Central Oregon since 1984. In September of 1996, he and two partners formed Compass Commercial Real Estate Services. Steve served as designated broker for the firm from 1996 through 2002 and as its President from 2003 through 2005. He is currently serving as Sales Manager.
Steve's personal business activities include assisting his clients in the acquisition and disposition of buildings and land, helping tenants in their relocations and landlords in finding tenants for their buildings. His primary focus is concentrated on redevelopment opportunities within the retail segment of commercial real estate.
Steve obtained the prestigious CCIM designation from the Commercial Real Estate Institue in 1995. A CCIM (certified commercial investment member) is a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. A CCIM is an invaluable resource to the commercial property owner, investor, or user. Only 6% of the estimated 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation.
In addition to being a member of the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the Central Oregon Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors, Steve is a member of the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and is a regular attendee at their annual deal making sessions held in the Spring.
Steve has been married to his wife Janine since 1981 and, together, they have two grown sons. He is an active member of First Baptist Church in downtown Bend where he serves on the local and global missions board. He especially enjoys working with high school and college age students and has led several house building trips into Mexico and four trips to Sigulda, Latvia.
Steve enjoys backpacking, rafting, fishing, golfing, sea kayaking, and just about anything that involves the outdoors.
