Herb Arathoon joined the Property Management Division of Compass Commercial Real Estate Services in January of 2007.  Herb has been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1997. In 2009 Herb fulfilled the extensive requirements for the CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation.  He has experience in managing everything from large shopping centers with national tenants to small office buildings. He was the property manager for the Forum Shopping Center for three years and has had up to 400,000 square feet of commercial property under management. 

As a Certified Property Manager at Compass, Herb manages 19 properties, including retail, office, and industrial buildings. Herb’s duties include day-to-day management, emergency response, budget preparation, CAM/NNN report reconciliation, vendor hiring, common area supervision, maintenance and repairs for our clients. As a Broker, Herb will also meet with potential tenants, show property, prepare letters of intent, and act as liaison between landlords, tenants and contractors.

Herb holds an MBA from City University (Bellevue, WA) in Financial Management and a BS in Business Administration from Oregon State University.  He has lived in Central Oregon for 20 years and during his free time loves to water-ski, play golf, read and enjoy the lakes that surround Bend. He is also co-owner with his son and wife of Taco del Mar franchises in Central Oregon. Herb has been married to Mary for 36 years and they have three grown children. Herb is fluent in Spanish.
