Central Oregon sees growth in restaurants, Compass Commercial leases space to three more eateries

BEND, OR – Bend is fast becoming one of the best places to open a restaurant. According to Nielsen’s recently released Restaurant Growth Index report, Bend ranks at #155 out of 500 U.S. metropolitan areas using an RGI score calculated on each area’s total restaurant sales and sales as a percent of per capita income, compared to the nation as a whole.

Compass Commercial Real Estate Services is pleased to play a part in the wave of culinary activity happening in Central Oregon.

Bruce Kemp, CCIM with Compass Commercial represented Riverfront Properties II in the lease of the former Brickhouse restaurant space at 803 SW Industrial Way to Old Mill Brew Werks. The brewery and restaurant will move from its existing location in the Old Mill District to open in the 4,350 square foot waterfront location on May 15th. Pat Kesgard, CCIM with Compass Commercial represented Old Mill Brew Werks in the lease negotiation.

“The new space gives Brew Werks a superior location with its oversize patio, riverfront and mountain views,” said Kesgard. “Brew Werks will be ready and operational to serve spectators in town for Pole, Pedal, Paddle on May 18th and to entertain patrons traversing Bend’s Ale Trail,” Kesgard added.

Darren Powderly, CCIM and Howard Friedman, CCIM with Compass Commercial represented Brickhouse restaurant in their relocation to the Firehall building in downtown Bend.

In a separate lease in Redmond, Kesgard along with Friedman, represented the landlord in the lease of a 2,000 square foot former sports bar and restaurant at 974 SW Veterans Way in Redmond Town Center to McBain’s Fish and Chips. The restaurant is currently open and is serving wine and beer. Cec De Clerck of Coldwell Banker Mayfield Realty represented the tenant.

Kesgard also represented both the landlord and tenant in the lease of 1955 NE Division St., home to the former Shanghai Restaurant to El Rey Azteca Mexican Restaurant and Cantina. The Reyes Family owns and operates Reyes Tortilleria on SE Division St. where they make authentic Tortillas. The 4,000 square foot El Rey restaurant is currently open.
