Gary North

Gary North brings more than 30 years of commercial construction leadership experience to Compass Commercial as Vice President of Construction. He oversees the continued growth of the construction division while working closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful projects built on communication, transparency, and trust.
North spent more than 25 years with R&H Construction, progressing from Project Manager to Vice President of the company’s Central Oregon division. While based in Portland during the early part of his career, he frequently managed projects throughout Central Oregon before relocating to Bend full time in 2011. As Vice President, he helped grow the Central Oregon division from approximately $5 million to $50 million in annual revenue while overseeing projects ranging from tenant improvements to hospitality, multifamily, and commercial developments valued up to $20 million.
Known throughout the industry for his collaborative leadership style, North believes construction is fundamentally a relationship business. His approach focuses on building long-term partnerships rather than one-time transactions, creating lasting value for clients through open communication and dependable execution. One project that reflects this philosophy began with a chance meeting at Sunriver Brewing, which developed into a trusted partnership and ultimately led to the construction of the brewery’s production facility.
Today, North is excited to help expand Compass Commercial Construction while leveraging the company’s integrated brokerage, property management, and construction teams to provide clients with comprehensive real estate solutions from concept through completion.
