BEND, OR, April 12, 2016 Compass Commercial Real Estate Services is pleased to announce Terry O’Neil, CCIM of Compass Commercial in Bend has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute. CCIM is the commercial real estate industry’s global standard for professional achievement and the largest commercial real estate network worldwide.

O’Neil was among 149 industry professionals from around the globe who earned the CCIM designation during the organization’s 2016 Midyear Governance Meetings April 3–6 at the Fairmont Chicago Hotel in Chicago.

“We are thrilled to congratulate Terry on his achievement and commitment to furthering his education to the benefit of his clients,” said Compass Commercial President, Pat Kesgard, CCIM. “There are currently 29 CCIM members in Central Oregon and 11 are members of the Compass Commercial team. We are proud of this distinction which signifies our ability to provide the most informed and experienced level of service to our clients.”

To earn the CCIM designation, commercial real estate professionals must complete more than 160 hours of case-study driven education covering topics such as interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, investment analysis, and ethics in commercial investment real estate. Candidates must also compile a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience and pass a comprehensive examination.

“Each designee has worked very hard and has made sacrifices to achieve the CCIM designation, which will pay off throughout their entire commercial real estate career,” said 2016 CCIM President Steven Moreira, CCIM. “I am pleased to welcome this new group of designees into our esteemed network of CCIM real estate professionals that are consistently sought out in the industry for their competence, work ethic, and analysis expertise.”

Only six percent of all commercial real estate practitioners hold the respected and coveted CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but why it is one of the most respected designations in the industry.

O’Neil joined Compass Commercial in 2012 and was awarded top performer status for the months of November and December in 2015.  He is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® AND THE Commercial Investment Division of the Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® (COAR).
