Last month we celebrated our clients, community partners and chosen charities at our annual Compass Appreciation Party. The event took place at Tetherow’s Event Pavilion; Tetherow Resort was the venue sponsor. This annual event celebrates the relationships our team has built over the years, and it also offers an opportunity to hear from and give to our designated Compass Cares charities. This year was Compass Commercial’s third and final year of a three-year commitment to Bethlehem Inn and Shepherd’s House Ministries, two Bend homeless shelters that serve the region’s less fortunate. This year’s charitable contributions from the event totaled $13,742. This donation is evenly split between the two charities and brings the three-year total raised to $72,542.
Both charities are running capital campaigns to expand services to the community. Bethlehem Inn is rebuilding their facilities. They have just completed phase one of the project and opened their new Family Residence and Service Hub, which contains a commercial kitchen. Their next phase has begun which will replace their residences for single men and women.
Likewise, Shepherd’s House Ministries is renovating their primary property on Division Street, expanding services in their various programs at the men’s center and the women and children’s center, which is helping to address critical needs and provide resources for personal growth and practical life skills. They serve those in need within Central Oregon, including Bend, Redmond, Sisters and Madras.
Donations poured in this year from event sponsors. Beverages were sponsored by Boneyard Beer, 10 Barrel Brewing, Crater Lake Spirits, Adelsheim Vineyard, and Humm Kombucha. Beautiful flowers donated by Cascade Garden Center were again donated to Partners in Care after the event.
Numerous sponsors generously donated items for a silent auction. Donors from the Old Mill District included Nashelle, Va Piano Vineyards, Desperado Shoes &…, Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe, Café Yumm, Wheel Fun Rentals, Savory Spice, Big Island Kona Mix Plate, Pastini, Bend Day Spa, Strictly Organic, Naked Winery and CycleBar.
In addition, Hydro Flask donated a quantity of products, and The Loft of Bend offered a one-year membership. Plus, a variety of items were donated by the BrickHouse, Riverhouse on the Deschutes, Tumbleweed Cabin, Kamdon Kreations, The Brown Owl, the Friedman Family, The Blacksmith Restaurant, Awbrey Glen Golf Club, Webfoot Painting, Broken Top Club and Newport Avenue Market. Finally, Bend Magazine was the media sponsor, providing free magazines for attendees and annual subscriptions which were included in some of the silent auction gift baskets.
President and partner, Pat Kesgard said, “A big thanks to all who donated. We are especially grateful to Tetherow Resort for being our venue sponsor. Without their sponsorship, this event wouldn’t be the same. The venue helped make the event special.”
The Compass Commercial team extends a heartfelt thank you to all who attended and joined in supporting these important charities that serve the Central Oregon community so selflessly.
