We are pleased to announce broker Joel Thomas earned his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. Over the last 4 years, he has been actively working toward this achievement, and attending classes at the CCIM Institute. He recently traveled to Tampa, FL to take the 6 hour cumulative exam, the final step to acquire the designation.
Per the CCIM website, earning the designation includes completing courses of approved CCIM curriculum, having a “portfolio of qualifying experience” to demonstrate experience as a commercial real estate broker and a comprehensive exam with a qualifying score.
“I’m really excited to have obtained this designation,” said Joel. “Many people in the industry equate the CCIM to having a Master’s Degree in Commercial Real Estate, and according to the last stat I’ve seen only 6% of commercial brokers have a CCIM. This was the culmination of a lot of work over the last several years and it feels like a big accomplishment. It’s great to join my peers at Compass Commercial who have the designation. I look forward to using this extensive knowledge to further help my clients make important decisions about their real estate investments. In my mind, that is what education like this is all about – being able to better help my clients meet their goals.”
Joel Thomas, CCIM serves clients from all areas of commercial real estate. He specializes in office, industrial and retail leases and sales, as well as business sales and investment. Joel has been working as a broker in commercial real estate at Compass Commercial since 2013.
