The vehicle maintenance company, Jiffy Lube, recently opened a new location at 1005 SE Cleveland Avenue in Bend. Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient Bob Babcock opened the new store in early 2022 to fulfill a much-needed service in the southern part of Bend. Compass Commercial Real Estate Services broker Dan Kemp, CCIM represented Babcock in the deal.
“This has been a multi-year process to plan and build this full-service Jiffy Lube facility,” Kemp stated. “Bob is a very experienced operator who now has a dynamic new facility that is properly equipped to serve the Bend automotive industry for years to come. Congratulations to Bob and his team for their commitment to bringing these badly needed services to the south end of Bend!”
Babcock was introduced to the franchise in 1999 while working in Gresham. In 2005, he opened a store in Bend located on 3rd street. The success of the Bend store opened the opportunity to expand operations to a second Redmond location a year later. Despite its success, the Bend location closed due to the owner selling the property in 2019.
“We got another opportunity for growth when the [3rd Street] property sold, and we did not renew our lease,” Babcock stated. “This was when our wonderful friends at Compass Commercial connected us with our new property owner. This brand new, four-bay store is a dream come true! We can do it all!”
According to Babcock, the new equipment allows the company to offer services they could not before, including tire rotation, installation and replacement, and brake inspection and replacement services. Most of their staff members have been with the company for more than three years, and they have a full-time Automotive Service Excellence Certified (ASE) technician with more than 20 years of experience.
Babcock said, “People are incredibly busy these days, and we want to make sure they get to where they are going safely by maintaining their vehicles while giving our guests the best customer service possible. We are so excited and grateful for this opportunity to renew old relationships with our Bend customers and to make many new ones.”
