Compass Commercial Partner, Regional Property Manager and Broker Krista Polvi, can now add another accolade to her accomplishments. This weekend, April 28-30, 2017, she is being inducted into the Collegiate Water Polo Association Hall of Fame as the 31st inductee.
Krista has been part of swim teams since she was five years old. When she found out about water polo as a high school freshman, she thought the sport would be a good fit. It offered Krista a chance to be part of a team. She started playing in high school, loved it and received a scholarship to play for Indiana University throughout college. Polvi states, “The biggest highlight of my collegiate career was my sophomore year. We were competing in the Eastern Championship tournament; we had a great tournament and actually ended up winning, which qualified us to go to the Final Four to compete as one of the top four teams in the nation. In the Eastern Championships, I scored five goals to help win the final game and was named MVP of the tournament.” Polvi was the first Hoosier to earn All-Conference First Team honors three consecutive years, 2003, 2004, 2005.
She is proud of that time, but says her biggest accomplishment was being on the U.S. National Team at the 2002 Junior Pan America Games where her team won gold. She has been able to take these victories with her, but more importantly, she was able to learn lessons that inform her everyday work now. When asked what she has been able to carry forward, hard work, dedication and the importance of team work were among the top. “With a team sport, you can’t do it alone. You need to work as one in order to achieve a common goal. This was an important lesson and has helped me in achieving my career goals and my ability to work well with others.”
Krista has been a valued member of the team at Compass Commercial Asset & Property Management since 2010 and as a partner since 2014. We are proud to have such a kind and dedicated person to work with and represent this firm.
