We are proud to announce that Luke Ross, broker and property manager was recently elected to the board of directors of Deschutes Children’s Foundation in Bend. He has been with Compass Commercial Asset & Property Management since 2013 and performing consulting work with Deschutes Children’s Foundation for about six months at the time of his election.
What drew Luke to the organization was the vision of DCF as an organization is “A community where all children and families have the resources they need to thrive” and they accomplish this through their mission of “providing the space and support where nonprofits succeed at helping children and families.” They focus on helping families and children throughout the Central Oregon community, renting space at a minimal cost to more than 20 different local nonprofits, so they can focus on serving the community through a focus on children without the hindrance of a large rent payment. There are currently four campuses, with two in Bend, one in Redmond and one in La Pine.
When asked about why Luke chose this organization to work with, he said, “Children are the future, and I’m committed to helping them get all they need to prosper. Deschutes Children’s Foundation is an amazing organization that really focuses on helping families and children throughout our community, allowing these nonprofits to focus more on their bottom line of serving more children and families, and less on their overhead. Being involved with DCF is great, because we are also helping other important nonprofits in our community.”
